December Daily® │Day 1 and the title page

It's always so much fun to get started on the inside of this project.  A few days ago I made my title page just so it was done and out of the way. I kept it super simple as you can see but still kept with the red, aqua and silver theme of the cover.

Of course the weather is super gloomy which makes it that much harder to photograph anything white and shimmery but I think for the most part this is fairly accurate. I cut the trees from white woodgrain cardstock so that they would fold back to reveal some aqua POW glitter paper underneath. I wanted to do a little bit of stitching and as I was working I thought just outlining half of the tree looked best. I like that pop of red and it works well with the simple banner that came in Ali's kit. I did add some foam adhesive to keep the trees folded back but still lifted off the page.

For my day one I had three stories to tell but kept it just to the advent calendar which is what I typically do on day one. I've saved the red and aqua burst paper for just the right moment and this was it. Its by Allison Kreft for Websters Pages and I think it was from the last year or two. I mounted a silver label from Pink Paislee on some red ribbon and adhered the wood veneer number to a round shipping tag. On the right I used a card that came in a special holiday set at Studio Calico the silver foil is amazing in person. I always start my album with some sort of letter to my daughter so I added it here. It's super simple and short and the perfect way to get going on the project.

Here you can see the foil of the card on the right and the number a bit better.

And her is a close up of the painted veneer numbers. I used Krylon Silver Chrome spray paint and it took quite a few coats to get the finish I wanted. It might not be fully cured yet because I noticed while handling my number one that my finger prints were starting to show. I now know to handle them carefully and not touch right on top until they fully cure which I hope is soon!

I'm hoping our weather improves soon so the photo taking is a bit easier. But I'll be back soon with more pages to share.
