A quick overnight

Yesterday we drove up to Reno to drop Larry's son off at the Reno airport.  It was awesome having him with us this past weekend and it's always good to see him.

We decided since we were up in Reno we would stay the night in Lake Tahoe but this time stop off in Virginia City for a little look around.

We decided to stop at the cemetery since we've never seen it.  The outside temp said 90 but man, 90 in Virginia City is way different than 90 here, you can certainly tell its the desert.  It was amazing to see the old iron work and the headstones that they are in process of restoring.  We didn't stay long, it was just too hot.

We sat in the car for awhile in the AC and drinking as much water as we could find debating if we should get out and walk around.  Ultimately we decided too but stayed on the shady side of the street.
My child is trained well, if there is a stick your head inside photo opp, she always wants to stop.

Had to snap a shot of the infamous Bucket of Blood, it was packed so we didn't go inside.

A cool monument near by.

We left Virginia City and drove through Carson City to get to South Lake Tahoe.  The views of the lake from this direction are amazing.  I snapped this one from the passenger seat at 60 mph.

Larry took Simone to the pool while I snoozed but they were back pretty quick because the pool was very crowded with a bunch of rambunctious folks so he decided before Simone got hurt to come back to the room.

We opted for something different this trip and walked down to Heavenly Village.  We ate at this pizza place and it was yummy, one of the best pizza's I've had.  Larry and I shared a salad and a small pizza since we had a large lunch, it ended up being the perfect amount.  Simone had her favorite, spaghetti.

See you soon, Tahoe, like in a few weeks soon...we have another fun night planned.
